Film Techniques

Mise en scene - put in the scne

Mise en scene: Moving or still, Colour, black and white, desaturated colour or special effect. - Accompanied by music?

Framing
Tight framing - Close shots
Loose framing - longer shots

Rule of 3rd - where the lines intersect, makes it interesting.
Places centrally can become confrontational.

Set design, costume, props, composition, lighting and the general visual enviroment, as well as camrea placement and movement, placement of actors and what they say and do. - Everything that takes place on the set prior to the editing process.

Aspect ration
Deep space - Significant elements of an image are positioned both near to and distant from the camera. - dosent have to be all in focus.

Shallow space is where the image is staged with little depth.

Wide shot
Not actual width of shot, since drama cannot alter referes more to the content and purpose of the shot.

  1. Emma your blog is missing many posts. Everything taught in my lessons must be on your blog. You need posts on narrative codes, camera shots (with examples), mac v pc, character roles, the male gaze, facial expressions etc.

If this posts are not uploaded you will be not allowed into class until you have caught up.
